Support for kids, teens and families when things feel harder than they should.
When your child is struggling with anxiety, school, big emotions or simply doesn't seem like themselves, it can be hard to know what to do next. Jennifer Rowe brings more than 25 years of experience helping children, teens and families find their footing again.
For parents
You know your child. You know when something feels off.

How therapy works for kids
Therapy designed for how kids actually communicate.
Children don't always have the words for what they're feeling, and therapy with a seven-year-old shouldn't look like therapy with an adult. Jennifer adapts each session to your child's age, personality and needs.
Play-based therapy
For younger children, play is how they express feelings, work through experiences and build a safe relationship with their therapist.
Expressive arts
Drawing, building and creative activities give kids another way to show what's going on inside when talking feels hard.
Movement & regulation
Movement and rhythm, including drumming, help kids understand their nervous system and practise calming their bodies.
Conversation for teens
Warm, direct support for teens who are anxious, overwhelmed or shutting down, at a pace that feels respectful to them.
Why in person? Play and movement work best when child and therapist share the same space, so Jennifer sees children and families at Summit's Calgary clinic.

Registered Provisional Psychologist
For more than 25 years, Jennifer has helped children, youth and families find safety, connection and hope during life's most turbulent seasons. Her work began in a crisis shelter, then spent years inside two major school divisions, so she understands how a child's wellbeing, family life and school experience affect one another.
Helping families through school refusal and the stress that builds around attendance.
Decades supporting kids with ADHD, anxiety and autism, plus lived experience as a parent.
Helping teens who've pulled away reconnect and find their footing.
Coaching parents through what she calls the hardest, most rewarding job on the planet.
Outside the therapy room, you'll usually find Jennifer kayaking with her daughters or hiking in the mountains with her Brittany Spaniel.
Parents are part of it
Supporting your child means supporting your family.
When a child is struggling, it rarely affects them alone. You remain an important part of your child's support system.
Jennifer can help you:
- Understand what your child is experiencing and why
- Know when to push, when to step back and what to say
- Bring practical strategies home between sessions
- Ease conflict around school, routines and big emotions

Questions
Common questions from parents
Does my child need a diagnosis to start?
No. Many families reach out simply because something feels off. Jennifer starts by understanding your child and what's been happening.
What if my child doesn't want to come?
That's very common. Sessions are adapted to your child, and for younger kids they often look more like play than a serious talk. Jennifer can also start by meeting with you.
Will I be involved as a parent?
Yes, in a way that fits your child's age and needs. Parent sessions and practical strategies for home are often part of the work.
Why are sessions in person?
Play, creative work and movement work best when child and therapist share the same space, so Jennifer's child and youth sessions happen at the Brentwood clinic.
Are you looking for an assessment?
This page is about therapy and support for kids and families. If you're looking for a formal assessment, mention it on your consultation call and the team can talk through options.
Is therapy covered by insurance?
